Company for Coffee: having company & interacting appropriately with guests: anti-jumping practice, settling nicely in a living room/home office/dining setting and using impulse control. We are also planning a bonus brewery visit/happy hour to supplement this topic if you’re a beer drinker!

Calm, Controlled Dog Class

Four Weeks

$145

When: Schedule varies. Click here for upcoming offerings.

Where: Da Paws Place in Rochester, Wa.

Prerequisite: None

Who, What & Why: Leslie McDevitt wrote a book called Control Unleashed: Creating a Focused and Confident Dog. We love it, so we created a class to help you with your anxious, uncomfortable, shut down, easily distracted, easily aroused, impulse-control-lacking, 0ver-excited, over-stimulated or just-about-over-everything dog.

Using some the techniques from Control Unleashed, as well as some of our own, we’ll help them learn to “turn it off” and channel that excitement behavior into things more helpful and productive. And, let’s face it – less likely to drive you crazy! It’s a win-win.

We’ll work in multiple settings and with many different distractions. You’ll be amazed to see how “zen” your dog becomes!

Who: Graduates of Walkabout, Total Recall or instructor approval

When: Spring & Summer. Click here to see upcoming offerings.

Where: Various locations in the Olympia area

Why: When you’re out with your pup in public, you want them to behave as nicely as they do at home. But new environments and situations can make your dog seemingly “forget” everything they’ve learned, including how to listen. And that’s no fun for anyone!

What: We’ll solidify the behaviors and manners we learned in Fun Foundation by taking field trips to places like the park, the pet store, and urban areas. It’s a great way to get help problem-solving behaviors in a real-world setting, so you can work towards having that “take anywhere” dog!
